Big Chief

Fuji Velvia slide film again – this time I deliberately underexposed by a stop to super-saturate the sky.

The Barn on the Hill

I’m Hungry, I Hope They Haven’t Run Out!

I want butter on my toast and my eggs scrambled please.

Rawhide

An interesting discovery inside an old barn up in the mountains. I loved the visual appeal of the afternoon light that filtered into the darkness through the various holes in the walls and the roof.

Deals on Wheels

I knew at the time I photographed this that I wanted to do an artistic treatment with it. I took the time last night to work with it and get it to look like what I envisioned in the first place.

The Squeaky Wheel

As you can tell I’m still picking out images to post from my last trip out west. I’m looking forward to getting some new material on the next trip which is coming up soon.

Built the Old-Fashioned Way

This weathered old barn provided a lot of great natural texture to work with thanks to all the rough-hewn lumber and simple construction techniques.

The Macabre Woodpile

This is one of the locations that I like to take people to on my New Mexico tour. It is in a little village, high in the mountains. Every time I come back there is a different arrangement of bones and skulls in the woodpile.

Southern Living

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to give up modern conveniences and the complications of life that go along with them. What would I do with all the time that I now spend at the computer? Maybe I could just sit in a rocking chair on the porch and contemplate. Maybe that wouldn’t be so bad.

The Garden Shed

Interior of the garden shed that houses the well for the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Estate in Cross Creek, FL.

Old Sugar Mill

A bit of steam powered Florida history sits on the side of the road in the quiet little town of Homosassa.
