Fun With Film
I make my living with state-of-the-art digital cameras but lately I have felt myself missing the experience of shooting on film with my old mechanical cameras. I still have every camera I’ve ever owned and recently I dusted off a couple of them and put them back into service. I have started to shoot again with a select few of my old favorites. Specifically they are a couple of Polaroid bodies, a 35mm SLR and a medium format TLR. This negative is from the medium format body, specifically a 1966 vintage Mamiya C33 Professional Twin Lens Reflex camera. It’s like having a reunion with a long-lost friend.
A Light Sprinkling of Snow
With all the oppressive heat that we are suffering from around here is it any wonder that I keep daydreaming of being here?
The Road Less Traveled
In the mountains of New Mexico. I’m really looking forward to the next photography tour that I’m leading here later this year.
Burnt Woods
I’ve found myself working with patterns the last few days. This is one of the images that I have been toying with.
Follow Me
Whenever I find myself on a road like this I hear the siren song in my head beckoning me each time I turn a corner to keep going to the next turn, and then the next, and the next…
Paint a Picture of the Forest
Just found this pic while working on a project last night. This a rare photo that I made with an old point and shoot camera that I keep handy in my console for quick shots and fun shots. No, the effect didn’t come from Photoshop. This was from a series of shots that I made by setting a slow shutter on the camera and holding it against the window while driving fast on a winding mountain road.
Wilderness (Infrared Image)
I knew the instant I walked into this wilderness area that I wanted to shoot it in infrared. I haven’t worked in that medium for a while and the scenery here was just what I needed to inspire me again.
One Waterfall, Three Perspectives
Given enough time, I won’t shoot anything from just one vantage point.
